Postdoctoral Fellow Positions at Mayo Clinic

Two NIH-funded postdoctoral research fellow positions are immediately available for the Neuroimmune Interaction Laboratory in the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. The lab mainly focuses on the role of microglia and monocytes in clinically relevant pathologies such as epilepsy, pain, stroke and autoimmune diseases. The lab uses multidisciplinary approaches including in vivo two-photon imaging, electrophysiology, immunostaining, biochemistry, behavioral studies in a vast variety of transgenic and knockout mice. The long-term goal of the lab is to identify and manipulate microglial and monocyte specific targets that complement existing strategies for the treatment of brain diseases. Candidates with expertise in neuroimmunology, glial biology, in vivo two-photon imaging, electrophysiology, or prior experience in studying neuron-glia communication and function are encouraged to apply.

Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine

The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University invites applications for three open-rank tenure-track faculty positions. The positions may cover any area in cellular or systems neuroscience. Applicants with expertise in neurodegenerative disease, cellular electrophysiology, and in vivo brain imaging are particularly encouraged to apply. Additional areas of interest include epigenetics and human iPSC-based neurological disease models. Candidates must hold an MD, PhD, or both, and are expected to have or establish a cutting edge extramurally funded research program, and may participate in teaching medical and graduate students. Department faculty have access to excellent core facilities for multiphoton/confocal and electron microscopy, small animal behavior and imaging, genomics and proteomics, flow cytometry and bioinformatics.
